Summer School Presentation: Expedited Drug Approval Programs in Canada: Public Health vs Private Profits
Joel Lexchin graduated with a MD from the University of Toronto in 1977 and for the past 32 years has been an emergency physician at the University Health Network. He taught health policy at York University from 2001-2016 and for the past 40 years has been researching, speaking and writing about pharmaceutical policy and is the author or co-author of over 200 peer reviewed journal articles on all aspects of this topic. He is the author of two recent books: Private Profits vs Public Policy: the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Canadian State (University of Toronto Press, 2016) and Doctors in Denial: Why Big Pharma and the Canadian Medical Profession Are Too Close For Comfort (Lorimer, 2017).
